This international leadership program is open to young people aged 18 to 26. It is a fully-funded program designed to empower these young individuals to become agents of change in their communities by instilling values of leadership development, global citizenship, self-awareness, and visionary planning.
MCW Global provides one of the most valuable learning and development opportunities for dedicated, enthusiastic, and driven individuals. With the goal of effecting local change through global collaboration, young minds are equipped to work collaboratively with their peers, guided by experienced mentors. This collaborative effort is aimed at positively impacting communities through innovative ideas and practical, project-based initiatives. The young leaders’ program is structured into several key components, including community needs assessment, project development, and ongoing alumni mentorship and support spanning nearly a year. It encourages young leaders to think creatively and devise practical solutions to address identified community issues.
The fully-funded exchange program in the USA begins with the assessment of community needs, involving participants in a process that enables them to understand and identify the most pressing issues within their communities. They receive relevant training to become effective change-makers within their communities. Participants are provided with modern tools and knowledge to assess their communities from a practical perspective. Following the assessment of community needs, participants are encouraged to develop visionary plans for executing their projects effectively, grounded in real-world circumstances. Young leaders are guided in determining the skills necessary to carry out each action item, ensuring the successful implementation of their projects. Alumni support is provided to all participants to assist them in realizing their projects.
The fully-funded international fellowship for the year 2024 is hosted by MCW, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing education and healthcare quality, as well as economic security for communities around the world. Based in New York with affiliated organizations in Africa, MCW Global consistently strives to address the pressing needs of communities by empowering current young leaders and preparing future leaders for this purpose. Eligibility Criteria of the MCW Young Leaders Fellowship 2024:
- People between the ages of 18 to 26 can apply.
- Able to demonstrate commitment to the community.
- Able to complete the community needs assessment and identify the community projects in the areas of education, health, or economic security;
- Fluent in English (oral or written).
- Have easy access to the internet for communication with the Global team and the program’s alumni and mentor for the whole tenure of the program.
- Adhere to the program’s guidelines.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
