Obama Foundation Scholars Program 2024-25 in the USA : The Obama Foundation Scholars Program in the USA presents a remarkable opportunity to assemble emerging leaders worldwide. Individuals demonstrating a steadfast commitment to addressing challenges within their communities, countries, and regions are encouraged to submit their applications. Sponsored by the University of Columbia as part of Columbia Global and Columbia World Projects, this fully funded scholarship in the USA marks the seventh cohort of a nine-month transformative program. Scheduled to run from summer 2024 to spring 2025, this program emphasizes skill-based, academic, and experiential learning. Leaders experiencing breakthrough moments in their careers and making significant contributions to their fields are eligible for this global opportunity. The program requires participants to work for the benefit of their communities upon their return, contributing to the positive and productive shaping of their communities’ future.

This fully-funded fellowship is open to global leaders with a commitment to community orientation, inclusivity, courage, hope, imagination, accountability, integrity, strategy, and resilience. It is a full-time residential program that cannot be combined with concurrent degree programs. Preference is given to individuals not matriculated from Columbia University. Initiated in 2018, the program has welcomed 70 emerging leaders from 54 countries, fostering collaborative efforts to address prevalent community issues. Additionally, the Obama Foundation has invited emerging institutional and movement leaders to tackle challenges such as strengthening governance, ensuring environmental sustainability, enhancing access to high-quality healthcare, combating gender violence, and promoting women’s rights.

The mission of the Obama Foundation is to empower, inspire, and unite people globally to effect positive change. It strives to nurture a generation of changemakers capable of prudently addressing contemporary challenges, thereby uniting and advancing for a better world. Columbia World Projects, a university-wide initiative, aims to forge meaningful connections between global needs and Columbia University’s research capabilities. It endeavors to work on projects with clear dimensions and measurable objectives, intending to have a broader impact by translating research into successful practical applications.
